BIO:

Hi guys, Archie here!

Im looking for my FUR-ever home so heres a little bit about me... Im a 2-year-old, red, smooth-coat Chiweenie (thats half chihuahua and half dachshund).

Despite my rough beginnings, Im a happy, friendly pup who just loves to play.

Just a few weeks ago I was left on the side of a country road in Tennessee but luckily, I wandered up to a nice family and they brought me to AADR.

Ever since then, things are really looking up.

After a clean bill of health, I was transported to my foster moms house now I have a soft lap to sit on, big blanket to sleep on, and I get to play with my foster brother all day.

Im a great leash walker but my forever home should have a fenced yard.

My foster mom says Im an absolute cutie who loves to snuggle and give tons of kisses.

She also says my coat is as soft as can be.

I love morning belly rubs and long walks.

I love to walk so much that I dont even mind the cold, that fluffy white stuff on the ground is fun to roll in!

My foster mom says Im almost house trained but by the look of her face I can tell I still make mistakes sometimes (sorry but Im new to this).

It would be great if someone in my new family worked from home or is home most of the time since I dont like to be left alone too long.

I like being at my foster moms but I need a furever home so if you think Id make a great addition to your pack, fill out an application today!

Im such an awesome guy, my foster mom thinks Ill get adopted quickly.

Bye for now!

============== Information for All Dogs/Adopters ==============

If you have questions about this dog, please feel free to contact the foster home at the email address listed above.

They have the most up-to-date information concerning the dog and would be happy to answer any questions about the animal.

We welcome out of state and Canadian adoptions, but we will not ship any dog via cargo.

You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport.

If you choose transporting by either volunteers through our organization or by paid transporter, there will be an additional $45 fee added for the required Health Certificate.

We will not adopt into CT, RI, NH, ME, or MA due to strict laws regarding importation of dogs into those states.

If you have an issue with this, you need to take this up with your legislatures.

To understand the adoption process through AADR, please review the Adoption Information on our home page.

Transportation options are outlined on that page in Step 3.

If you are interested in adopting this Dachshund please review Read Before You Adopt and then you can complete an Application.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast. We just can't get them from one Coast to the other but some day we hope to have enough volunteers to do that as well.

For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
